Violet's First Thanksgiving - November 25th

After our 3 day drive down to CJ for Thanksgiving we were happy to stay put for 5 days and relax, eat, and enjoy the company of family and friends.

 

V took many sink baths with her Grandma... I think it is their favorite thing to do together.

 

Jill, Ania, and Mat came down to CJ to spend Thanksgiving with us too.

 

V and Ania had a great time together. They read books.

Hung out with all the dogs (there were 5!!!)

They took turns pushing each other in Violet's push-cart-walker. They did this A LOT. Probably a 100 times.

and took a bath together.

On Thanksgiving George, Elaine (pictured with V above), Larry, Marcia, John, Natalie, and V's Great Grandpa all came over for dinner too. She got A LOT of attention.
At dinner she ate turkey, mashed potatoes, yams, and stuffing. Stuffing was her favorite and she ate it for many more days to come. :)

Mom's Birthday Coast Trip - November 23rd

We were going down to Cave Junction to visit Violet's Grandma and Grandpa for Thanksgiving and since Wind had a week off of school we decided to drive down there on the coast and take a few days... a mini vacation for my birthday present.

 

The first night we stayed in McMinnville where we walked around town, ate food, and went wine tasting.

Our room was at a local Bed and Breakfast where we were the only guests. We had the whole house to ourselves which was really nice for Zig-Zag. V loved the fluffy rug and trying to hide under the bed.

The next stop was in Yachats. We stayed at the Fireside Lodge and had a GREAT view. Even though it was cold V and Zig hung out on the porch a lot admiring the ocean and birds.

We walked along the oceanside trail for a ways before it started pouring rain! A stormy ocean and big rocks makes for a exciting jaunt.

The final night we stayed at the Inn of the Beachcomer in Gold Beach. It had a BIG tub on the deck and we filled it up with very warm water and all of us took a little hot tub for an hour or so. V LOVED being in a outdoor tub and LOVED doing it with her mom AND dad.
The next day we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house pretty early because it started SNOWING on the beach!

Sequoia & Aaron's Engagement Party - November 14th

Violet, Wind and I were all invited to Sequoia and Aaron's Engagement Party. It was in Eugene on a SUNDAY night, but since it started in the late afternoon we thought we would drive down and attend until V got sleepy and then pile in the car to go back home so Wind could go to work in the morning.
All of the guests were supposed to wear white (it was a theme party), so V wore her white flower headband (at least for awhile) her Grandma made her and her white sweater overalls.

 Sequoia and Aaron both wore gold!
Violet really liked Sequoia and her VERY sparkly dress.

Sequoia (and everyone else there) gave V lots of attention. She was the only baby in attendance. :)
