Easter!

Easter was fun this year. Violet still doesn't understand the eggs and egg hunt aspect, but she understands the chocolate eating aspect quite well.

She got a small Easter basket in the morning from Wind and I and some books from her Granny and Grandma.

Granny, Wind and I all helped her color some eggs. She spilled the pink about 3 minutes after we started so we had no pink eggs... oh well.

Then we all went out to lunch with Jill and Ania before an Easter Egg hunt at a church. It was a good thing we hung out a little before the hunt because THERE WAS NO HUNT! It actually happened the day before, so we showed up a day late. V didn't really understand, so no big deal for her, but Ania was quite sad. :(

I made it up to her later by having an Easter Egg hunt in my yard and making Easter dinner for them to eat. Manny, Enoch and Heather all came over too.

It was wet, but fun.

Lorenzo's 3rd Birthday Party

Saturday V, Wind, and I all went to Lorenzo's Birthday Party. It was at the Oregon Gymnastics Academy. I was unsure how Violet would do with a foam pit, bouncy castle, and trampoline because she is a little young for them (the youngest one at the party), BUT she did great. She tried all of them and seemed to enjoy herself. She especially enjoyed eating a whole piece of chocolate cake!

Even in the bouncy room where she was constantly being flung around by the bigger kids jumping she had fun... of course Ania was there, so maybe that is why. :)

Tulip Festival

The playgroup V and I attend every Friday went to the Tulip Festival in Woodburn Friday. It was one of the nicest days of the year so far. It was hectic dragging 6 babies around looking at tulips and trying to take photos, but we had a good time. I almost starved though because I forgot to eat while we where there.

Coast Trip 04/11 with Dolatas, Ashbury-Galvins, & Goetzs

Two weekends ago (04/14, 15 & 16) we went to the coast and rented an AMAZING beach house in Lincoln City with some of our friends with little babies. We had an amazing time. We spent the days relaxing, going to the aquarium (one day), and beach walking... and the nights when the babies were sleeping... we hung out, drank wine, sat in the hot tub, and played board games.

Spring Break 2010

Violet, Wind, Zig-Zag, and I all went on a little road trip for Spring Break.

On the way to CJ we stopped in Eugene for the afternoon to see Neriah, V's Grandpa. We went on a walk with him at his house in the country and then enjoyed a nice lunch with him and his girlfriend, Christie. V was a little shy at first, but warmed up after hanging out for awhile.

Next we went to CJ to stay at Camp Stohlman. We hung out with Grandma, Grandpa, and Granny on Saturday. We went for a nice walk (even though it rained a bit). Then hung out at the house for the rest of the day.

V loved walking around in the grass and pine needles all over their property. She requested to go out and "walk" "outside" almost as many times as she requested "Oscar", "MayMay" (Maggie), "Bup" (Buck), or "ZeegZee" (ZigZag).

The next day V AND Wind both threw up. And Sunday was spent laying around hoping they would feel better the next day.

The next day they both felt a little better. So, we left there and traveled down to Eureka.  It was very nice weather that day (the only one of the trip). She wore her sunglasses for the first time without ripping them off right away.

We walked all around Acarta and ate lunch.

Then we went on our way to a VERY NICE hotel in Eureka where we got a room upgrade and got to stay in a $300 per night room for $160. That night we went to a good Italian restaurant for dinner, where V and Wind both ate pretty well despite feeling a little under the weather still.

The next day we went to Eureka's VERY SMALL zoo. There were some monkeys, rhea (big ostrich-like birds that V called "Ducks"), llamas, and a petting zoo. She loved the pig, but didn't want to touch him.

She did, however, want to pet the cat, who had a badge around his neck that said "Staff".

The next day we went on a drive down the Lost Coast Hwy. It WAS NOT a highway. It was a VERY bad, pothole-filled, road that we though was 45 miles long, but was really 90. It was a very beautiful drive, but was VERY slow going and took almost 4 hours. V was VERY VERY unhappy and cried for probably an hour of the ride. This was quite unpleasant for everyone. She may have felt a little carsick considering she was facing backwards on a winding road for hours. Poor little girl. :(

The next day we walked around Eureka a bit. It was pouring rain, but still pretty fun.

That night we went back to CJ.  We hung out with everyone again on Saturday and Saturday night we went with Grandma and Grandpa to "A Night at the Casbah". It was a Casbah themed dinner with bellydancers and live music at the IV Seniors center. V LOVED IT! She liked the music and food, but mostly liked all the clapping. She would yell "YAY" and clap VERY enthusiastically.

Then Sunday it was time to go home. It was a very nice trip full of family and good, despite being wet, times.
